Bio

My name is Sara Webber and I’ve lived in Maine my whole life. Being the youngest of three daughters has made me develop a great sense of humor. I am in my third year at the University of Maine but just recently switched to New Media. My minor is Innovation Engineering because I absolutely loved it since the very first class. Dance is one of my greatest passions, so it is unfortunate that I don’t have the time to pursue it. All types of technology interest me and someday I would like to work for an innovative company like Samsung (and obviously become rich and famous). Some of my other interests include movies, music, and hanging out with friends and family. Also, sarcasm is a second language to me, so don’t take me too seriously.

Creative Statement

I chose New Media because other majors didn’t give me the freedom to do what I wanted. My creativity needs to shine through, so I think New Media will allow that to happen. Even though I no longer dance, the subject still fascinates me to no end and I could spend days watching videos, looking at pictures, or performing anything dance related. I would like to know more about photography and video editing. I know a little bit now just from what I have taught myself and what others have showed me. It might be odd to have this mindset, but I often find that I get inspiration from other people’s inspiration. For example, if someone is passionate about knitting and explains why it fascinates them or is their hobby, I usually take an interest in that topic and want to learn more about it even though it isn’t necessarily something I would want to do.
